What is it about?
The IOTA group have designed an ultrasound assessment model to determine if ovarian cysts are a cancer. We are assessing how this model works when used in a general outpatient clinic before the decision for surgery is made and compared it to the "perfect test" of histology if they had surgery. For those who did not have surgery, we compared the model to follow up ultrasound scans where we assumed that if the scan was unchanged at 1 year that a diagnosis of no cancer at that initial scan could be confirmed.
