What is it about?

Inter-operator variations in the level of intraoperative laparoscope control by surgeons influence surgical outcomes. We aimed to construct a laparoscopic surgery quantification system (LSQS) for real-time evaluation of the surgeon’s laparoscope control to improve intraoperative manipulation of the laparoscope.

Why is it important?

we proposed a new quantitative index and LSQS that conveniently enables real-time intraoperative feedback during laparoscopic surgery to enable the assistant surgeon to adjust the position of the laparoscope in time to improve the operative efficiency as well as the evaluation of inter-operator variations in the level of laparoscope control by surgical assistants.

Perspectives

I hope this article can provide a reliable help to young laparoscopic surgeons in clinic. Furthermore, this is a breakthrough in experimenting with deep learning and medical practice.
