What is it about?

The migration motivation of the Romanian youth is explored for the first migration, return migration and intentions to leave abroad on the basis of sample of about 2000 young Romanians in Romania.Multiple comparisons with youth from other European countries allow for an understanding of what is specific or common in the migration motivation.

Why is it important?

The idea that the migration motivation has a dynamics resulting from a continuous interaction with the migration experience. Similarities in the nexus motivation-experience of migration among the nine surveyed countries of Europe are good starting points to a better understanding the migration process of the Romanian youth.
