What is it about?

Disadvantaged children face the most serious problems in education. Those families were poor and disadvantaged Romanies, so their children did not attend the school. The study reveals that the inhabitants of a disadvantaged social stratum of this study mostly come from the ethnic origin of Romanies.

Why is it important?

The inability of Romanies to benefit from compulsory education creates multidimensional disadvantages in terms of social, political, economic and cultural aspects. Such conditions held by Romanies or other disadvantaged ethnical communities strongly form the sociological codes that last for many generations.

Perspectives

The most significant results obtained from this research on the disadvantaged social classes or the Romanies clearly demonstrate that the parents are poorly educated indeed and especially most mothers have not benefited from any formal education. Inequalities of disadvantaged children mostly derive from both in terms of socio-economics and education; mostly due to lack of mother’s education.
