What is it about?
The quality of citronella essential oil based on chemical composition is described. The authenticity of the essential oil was carried out using gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The content of the major constituents was determined using GC-FID and proton NMR using internal standard.

Why is it important?
Fast and low income method was used to evaluate the authenticity of the essential oil of citronella.
Perspectives
This work was carried out with collaboration of researchers from three distinct institutions. This was a great opportunity to extend my collaboration network. I enjoy working in the analysis of different natural products, whereas identifying the constituents or evaluating their quality and authenticity.
