What is it about?

An aggression management training program for nurses is an intervention for deterring inappropriate expressions of aggression toward patients, preventing abuse, improving collaboration among staff members, tackling interpersonal issues in the workplace, and improving staff members’ ability to self-manage their emotions. Nurses’ total aggression score decreased when they underwent an anger-focused emotional management training program, and the effect persisted for three months.

Why is it important?

The current study’s main findings were that total aggression scores decreased significantly immediately after the one-day training, and the effect remained for three months.

Perspectives

Emotion management training is in increasing demand so as to provide safe and secure care to both nurses and patients and to create a comfortable workplace. We hope that anger management will become a common skill among nurses.
