Injury to sciatic nerve during surgery to repair hamstring muscle tear

What is it about?

sciatic nerve was severely injured during repair of hamstring muscle injury at its attachment to the pelvic bone.

Why is it important?

Sciatic nerve injury leads to severe disability and should be avoided during surgical procedures. Use of monitoring of sciatic nerve function may prevent injury during surgery.
