What is it about?
In this scoping review including 85 articles, we provide a map overviewing the field of AAL-technology-mediated interventions for people 65 years and older. Starting from this map, we discuss if and how the interventions correspond to the WHO framework of Healthy ageing, and we describe if and how informal carers were included in the interventions.

Why is it important?
Our findings are relevant for policymakers when developing technology‐mediated health strategies. Our findings can also be useful for health and social care professionals attempting to navigate through a growing field of interventions concerned with health promotion for older people using technology‐mediated interventions.
Perspectives
I hope this article will contribute to a critical discussion about the field of technology-mediated interventions for older people and their informal carers. Governments are spending an increasing amount of money into the field, and the expectations are high. I believe there is a need for an ongoing discussion to identify the gaps in the research field as well as the best ways to create the highest attainable health for all older people and their informal carers.
