What is it about?
Solidification/stabilization method is used to prevent heavy metals from leaching out from the waste incinerator ash. We have solidified four incineration residues in two different ways: with Portland cement and alkali-activated granulated blast furnace slag and compared obtained materials by performing compressive strength, microstructural, structural and heavy metals leachability tests.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that bottom ash could be successfully solidified in cement and alkali-activated granulated blast furnace slag in relation to compressive strength and heavy metals leachability results.
