What is it about?

The article presents ways to simulate bubbly flows and collects all required models. An additional chapter describes extensions to simulate gas-liquid-solid bubble columns (so-called slurry bubble columns). Detailed overviews of numerical methods and simulations found in literature are collected in tables and all model equations are listed.

Why is it important?

When one wants to simulate bubble columns with methods of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) one should take a closer look at the publication. All the required approaches and models are shown and a lot of related literature is given which makes this work a good starting point for beginners and is at the same time an extensive model collection for advanced learners.
