What is it about?
We have recently introduced the use of bioorthogonal reactions as new strategy to achieve both conditional and spatial control over the generation of singlet oxygen. Here, we reported a modular peptide-based platform of bioorthogonal activatable photosensitizer, which were able to confine the photodynamic effect in specific subcellular organelles.

Why is it important?
Our modular approach offers enormous versatility and will inspire other bioconjugation possibilities for smart phototherapies.
