Why is it important?

People with Neuro-divergent needs, are represented far more in the justice sector and the prison population than the general population. They often lack understanding of the process or have failed to provide necessary paperwork which finds them in court.

Perspectives

If we could support individuals and see patterns in how they intersect with the justice system, we could reduce repeat incidences, help individuals be more independent and enable them to navigate solutions to their difficulties. Currently we are criminalizing communication disorders and people who are Neuro-divergent!
