What is it about?

this study is about the origin of color hierarchy in response inhibition. The fact that red color which is advantageous for response inhibition and stopping in human (e.g. in traffic light) is also advantageous for response inhibition in a non-human primate (macaque monkey) model implies that red advantage for response inhibition is an inherent property of primates' brain but not an outcome of experience dependent learning in human.

Why is it important?

Our finding provide a knowledge regarding the nature of red advantage in response inhibition. It is important because it provide a opportunity for intervention approaches for facilitating inhibition ability in neuro-psychological disorders and addiction.
