What is it about?
This work demonstrate the highly conducting films are very adhesive to the FTO and is the most promising electrode for the commercialization point of view. Interestingly, these thin-film electrode shows remarkable increase in current density (from ≈10 to 30 mA cm−2) at the overpotential of 0.6 V after 2000 cycles with excellent durability over 15 h.

Why is it important?
This work demonstrate the highly conducting robust thin-film fabrication of N and H dual doped black TiO2 deposited by physical vapor deposition technique on sapphire and FTO substrate as an electrode for Hydrogen generation electrocatalytic reaction. The physico-chemical properties of the electrode were explored which suggests the key features of these electrode are perfectly suitable for designing the superior performing electrode for HER over several cycles.
Perspectives
If you really want to make real time, economic and robust fuel cell for Hydrogen generation. Than this article is worth reading, which provides a complete study for designing a robust electrode for HER in alkaline media.
