What is it about?

X-rays are widely used in daily life and industry, for example, medical X-ray imaging, and safety checking. In this work, we show a method to generate photon frequency tunable x-rays from 2D materials. Such a tunable X-ray source can see more details than the conventional ones whose frequency is not tunable.

Why is it important?

The work introduced a simple and effective way to tune the X-ray photon frequency, which has promising applications in the X-ray industry.

Perspectives

In this work, our experimental results match our theoretical results perfectly. It provides a promising tunable and single color X-ray source for next-generation X-ray applications.
