What is it about?

We demonstrate for the first time the electrodeposition of liquid metal. This "bottom-up" approach bypasses the limitations imposed by the high surface tension of liquid metal and enables patterning with record-high resolution (300 nm) and filling high aspect ratio vias in elastomers.

This research facilitates the development of to soft 3D electronics, which will find applications in biomedical devices and soft robots.
