Why is it important?
The number of students with autism attending college is growing rapidly. Faculty and staff need a better understanding of autism and the kinds of strategies that can make a difference for these students.
Perspectives
While most articles about students with autism are fact-based and explore the science of autism, this article is a first-person narrative about a professional coming to terms with her own lack of understanding, and her journey to gain the kind of knowledge she needs to support college students on the autism spectrum.
