What is it about?
We studied how subjective power (i.e., perceived influence over partner) and psychopathy relate to psychological aggression in romantic relationships. People with low power and high psychopathy were especially likely to act aggressively, as were those whose partners lacked power and were high on psychopathy.

Why is it important?
Psychological aggression can seriously damage relationships and well-being. This research helps explain what combination of power and personality traits (here: psychopathy) make such harmful behavior more likely.
