Landslide in the Azores predicted to have produced a giant wave (tsunami)

Why is it important?

This landslide-induced tsunami simulation is interesting as it predicts that the parallel coasts of Pico and Sao Jorge islands formed a reflecting waveguide, potentially extending the destructive phase of the tsunami propagation.
