What is it about?

PSMA and Choline PET/CT ar useful but not perfect. A salvage radiation therapy demonstrates that prostatic bed is still the first site of relapse but PET/CT is not sensitive and specific enough, being studied for lymph-nodal and bone metastases.

Why is it important?

At the first relapse after surgery the prostatic bed should be irradiated to obtain a good 5-year biochemical relapse free survival. Treating only the PET positive areas the results are poor.
