Project

Long-term outcomes of the Corona crisis

University Medical Centre Groningen

What is it about?

Current measures and guidelines for COVID-19 are aimed at limiting the impact of the pandemic on the healthcare system, in particular hospitals and intensive care units. Researchers at the University Medical Center in Groningen are studying the long-term effects of these measures and of COVID-19 on society and on the healthcare system as a whole.

Why is it important?

COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on all our lives. We are gaining a lot of information about the development of the disease and short-term effect, but we do not know the long-term outcomes of this pandemic. The ongoing projects at the UMCG will contribute to the understanding of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, not only on health but also on society and on the healthcare system.
