What is it about?
My colleagues and I have written about 40 scientific publications as part of this project. The main ecosystems that were studied are: 1) Agricultural regions of Canada 2) Agricultural regions in California 3) Agricultural regions in Oklahoma and Iowa 4) The grasslands in Kansas 5) The boreal forest near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Thompson, Manitoba 6) The Hudson Bay Lowlands and 7) The Mackenzie basin.
Why is it important?
These publications present tower-based flux measurements of mass and energy exchange supplemented with aircraft-based measurements. Some of the studies were part of large scale experiments such as FIFE, BOREAS, NOWES, SGP, SMACEX and GEWEX. These studies help understand the role of these ecosystems with respect to climate change.
Perspectives
The research on these ecosystems were an excellent opportunity to work with scientists from different disciplines,
