At the University Medical Center in Groningen in the Netherlands, clinical research is being conducted to understand the symptoms of COVID-19 patients and to evaluate therapeutics and vaccine candidates against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus; several studies are also being conducted on people who have recovered from the infection.
Millions of COVID-19 cases have been confirmed worldwide and hundreds of thousands of people have died because of the infection caused by the novel coronavirus. To develop new therapies, it is important to understand how COVID-19 evolves, the symptoms connected to the respiratory disease, as well as what happens to people who recovered from the infection.
