Meaningful Control of Autonomous Systems
At the end, we want a system that interprets sensor input to estimate the uncertainty of the system, while asserting the situation while driving.

Most accidents are caused by human mistakes. Autonomous driving has the potential to outperform humans in this task, but this requires a lot of training in a wide variety of circumstances.
The advance in autonomous driving should not only come from the automotive companies having access to huge datasets of their customers, but also from academics who share code, datasets and simulation environments to allow the level of training to make autonomous driving really safe.
At the end, we want a system that interprets sensor input to estimate the uncertainty of the system, while asserting the situation while driving.
Autonomous vehicles should be able to predict the movement of other traffic participants so they can act accordingly.
