About my research
I work on the design of organizational policies whose execution is robust to arbitrary events. I’ve watched companies sink, with executives unaware of what strategic problem to tackle, much less how . Calling skilled power-pointers, running scenario meetings, or shuffling people in reorganizations were pointless maneuvers. The trouble starts with believing strategy begins with a vision. Then, common strategy making methods rely on guesswork and do not help with execution. Unfortunately, despite their usefulness, neither do dynamic simulations.
