What is it about?
The details of glycemic profile in diabetic hemodialysis patients are not known. We analyzed and elucidated the specific glucose profiles of 98 hemodialysis patients with type 2 diabetes using continuous glucose monitoring.

Why is it important?
Our results revealed that over 20% of these patients have “hidden hemodialysis-related hypoglycemia”, but blood glycemic markers are not sufficient to detect this hypoglycemia.
Perspectives
We hope that our results can contribute to better glycemic control and quality of life for diabetic hemodialysis patients by sharing our results with not only diabetologists and dialysis specialists but also all medical staff involved in hemodialysis.
