What is it about?
Mutations in the insulin gene can lead to rare forms of diabetes. We discovered a new mouse model of diabetes with such an insulin mutation. It is thought some of the mechanisms leading to diabetes development in these mice may have some similarities to other more common types of diabetes. It is hoped that in the future this mouse could be used to understand more about how diabetes develops.
