What is it about?

Therapists delivering cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) based treatment must make numerous decisions within in each treatment session (i.e., micro-level clinical decisions), often without the supports and guidelines available to guide more macro-level clinical decisions. While experienced clinicians may learn how to effectively navigate these choices, trainees, early career clinicians, and lay providers may not have the experiences needed to align their decisions with evidence supported approaches when unexpected situations occur. We provide four suggestions for supporting early career clinicians' micro-level clinical decision making that can be implemented in treatment setting with varying levels of resources.
