What is it about?

We conducted a review of the scientific literature and calculated pooled estimates of the sociodemographic differences in perceived need for treatment and treatment received, among college students experiencing mental health problems. A range of significant differences were identified, with the largest based on race and ethnicity, international student status, and sex/gender. Study results highlight a need for targeted efforts to ensure equitable access to care in college students and inform targets for said efforts.
