What is it about?

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a complex disorder with many potential causes. This study included data from participants aged 18-65 years and investigated whether insulin resistance is associated with an increased rate of incident MDD. The results indicate that a number of conditions associated with insulin resistance are predictive of incident MDD. We believe these findings may provide more avenues for evaluating risk for the development of MDD in patients with metabolic disorders.
