What is it about?
EGFR inhibitors are anticancer agents commonly used in treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. We have shown the first case of bilateral corneal neurotrophic ulcer due to the first generation EGFR inhibitor Gefitinib; in our case report, corneal ulcers were severe enough to require bilateral penetrating keratoplasty.

Why is it important?
Our case report aims to raise awareness among ophthalmologists and oncologists about the association between EGFR inhibitors and corneal neurotrophic ulcers, which can also involve both eyes and can evolve in severe eye damage such as corneal perforation.
