What is it about?

This paper describes a method and a crystallographic software to extract electron diffraction patterns into X-ray diffraction patterns. It is for the convnience of XRD phase identification of minor phases in a bulk materials.

Why is it important?

X-ray diffraction can not detect trace amount of a second phase in power materials. Electron diffraction can give a clear diffraction rings of minor phase. It is very important to extract the diffraction rings into X-ray diffraction patterns so that it is effecient to run X-ray diffraction analysis and easy to achive reliable result of phase identification.

Perspectives

This paper will have a good impact in microanalysis and microscopy of crystalline materials in terms of combination of various techniques into one. More functions will be expected to add for comprehensive analysis purpose.
